About Pro-Circuit

Mitch Payton, who was a Baja-type racing pro through the deserts of California and a specialist in engine preparation, founded Pro Circuit in 1978 at the age of eighteen. Pro Circuit's early customers were mostly motocross racers and desert specialists who wanted Mitch to provide the same speed settings that he applied on his bikes.

Thanks to the reputation achieved on the circuits, in 1980 Mitch focused 100% on the preparation and sale of spare parts for off-road motorcycles. After perfecting the manufacturing process together with his small team of experts, custom exhausts were the first Pro-Circuit high-performance accessory to come out of Mitch's messy workshop, followed by motocross race silencers.

Thanks to the success of these accessories, riders who from main brands such as Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki, began to request modifications for other parts of the Off-road motorcycles, which led Pro-Circuit to the development of motorcycle suspensions, engine parts, as well as accessories for the chassis.

Pro Circuit racing achievements and great results reignited Mitch's competitive fire, so in the early 1990s, Pro-Circuit set its sights on the holy grail of the United States off-road racing: win a national AMA Supercross Series motocross championship. They created the Peak Antifreeze, Pro Circuit and Honda team with 125cc bikes, along with a group of unknown riders, including a very young Jeremy McGrath. Later the successes of another rookie named Ricky Carmichael followed, achieving the dream that Mitch had chased for years to win the national motocross championship of the United States.
