Lambda emulator
The use of the new O2 controller makes it possible to manage the carburation in the area where the lambda sensor controls the ratio of the air/fuel mixture entering the combustion chamber. This device is able to operate the lambda sensor at a value different from the stoichiometric value, enriching the A/F (air/fuel) ratio to improve torque and power while respecting the engine's DNA.
The main objective of Malossi's research and development department is to ensure that each vehicle responds to a calibration designed to optimise performance and fuel consumption.
Complete carburation control is obtained by combining the O2 controller with the Force Master ECU control unit. The synergy of these two devices is limitless, the entire plan is managed, controlled and optimised for any processing stage proposed by Malossi.
The evolution of engine control systems in recent years has led to the design of this new version: the emulation of the Lambda sensor signals now corresponds perfectly to the original sensor and the aesthetics have been refined and enriched with an essential optical interface that emulates the real operation of the device.
The Power led allows to verify if the power supply is correct, while the two remaining LEDs show the carburation ratio. When the vehicle is switched on, the Power led lights up and the Rich led (rich carburation). After a warm-up period of the sensor and if you are in the closed loop Lambda control zone, the two Rich and Lean LEDs will light up alternately. This kind of behaviour shows the correct functioning of the device by a continuous calibration of the A/F ratio.
